Grief & Loss
We will all experience grief during our lives. This includes; loss of relationships, careers, identity as well as the loss of a loved one or a cherished pet. I provide a sensitive, person centred approach to bereavement for those ready to understand their grief process and help find meaning in their life after a significant loss.
Neuro-diversity
I offer counselling for parents, caregivers or children and young people with Autism. This also includes adults with an Autism Spectrum Condition and/or ADHD. I am passionate about understanding the many struggles and difficulties associated with Neuro-diversity and difference.
Adolescent Counselling
A specialised and adapted counselling approach for young people aged between 11 - 18 years old.
Adolescence is one of the most influential and shaping parts of life. I can help them navigate their way through some uncertain, confusing and anxious times.
Depression & Anxiety
Two of the most common forms of mental health concerns. However, they can be debilitating, life altering and seem impossible to manage. I work in a holistic way to discover achievable methods of how to combat feelings of hopelessness, despair, fear and dread among many others.
Menopause & Peri-menopause
This can often be a difficult and frustrating part for many women during this biological, mental and emotional adjustment. I aim to offer an empathetic, sensitive and validating approach to counselling women experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, loss of intimacy, fatigue and physical pain/changes. There is also a lot of educational benefits where clients can ask and receive helpful resources and information about the menopause and peri-menopause.
Mens Mental Health
Social / cultural norms and ingrained beliefs about masculinity are one of the barriers men may experience when seeking counselling for emotional and psychological issues. This is also known as 'TOXIC MASCULINITY'. Some men often open up more when talking with a female therapist about vulnerability or themes that they might find hard to talk about with other males. However,
it's not the gender of the therapist that matters, it is the quality of the relationship that I aim to build with male clients. I have experience working with men across all ages of the lifespan and i provide a tailored, sensitive and non-judgemental way of working.
Trauma & PTSD
It can be very triggering and upsetting for people who live with either a historic or recent traumatic event and post traumatic stress disorder. As a person centred practitioner, my approach is to work at the clients own pace whilst collaboratively uncovering parts of the trauma that are affecting their present life.
Pregnancy & Infant Loss
Coming to terms with the loss of a pregnancy or the death of an infant is something that is so deeply sensitive and incredibly difficult for expectant mothers and fathers to deal with. I offer a delicate way of exploring the myriad of emotions and thoughts that often sit alongside this type of grief.
Anger, Guilt & Resentment
These feelings can often be destructive for an individual and their relationships. Using cognitive based methods and open dialogue, I provide a safe space to express these feelings in a way that fosters self-awareness and encourages different perspectives during challenging situations.
Self- esteem & Confidence
It can be hard to be positive about ourselves during times of low mood, life changes or past experiences. Working on self-esteem and confidence can bring many benefits to a person's life, including; self-compassion, acceptance and contentment. I work in a delicate way, yet I offer a pro-active approach to building confidence using a combination of ideas and strategies that is most comfortable for you.
Couples & Relationships
I aim to help people understand each other on an emotional level where they can navigate relationship issues and learn to gain deeper and long lasting connections together. This process also fosters self awareness and personal growth. This applies to couples as well as families.
